On chain bookstores

I found myself frustrated by the selection of books in Chapters. They are one of those stores that goes with the quantity over quality method. They only stock things that move fast. This excludes a lot of great books. It seems like lately I have taken an interest in the exact type of books places like this don’t carry — rare gems and lesser known works. They only stock two George Orwell books (Animal Farm and 1984). Yes those two are good, but there is so much more out there. Only reading the most popular books is like just drinking one kind of tea, you miss out on everything else. At least they have a station that lets you order some books, but it doesn’t have everything.

This is not enough for me. I want c and d list books. Not the stuff you read in English classes but the stuff you actually want to read — though sometimes those books were actually good.
